"CFC equips you with skills that are necessary inside the industry itself," Kyle notes. "It's very hands-on compared to other places where the test is multiple-choice questions. CFC gives you that time to practice and enables you to be capable in that sense to prepare you for what's to come when you go out to work."

For someone without a background in IT, the learning curve was steep. However, Kyle emphasizes the course's comprehensive approach, starting from the basics and gradually building up the syllabus. "It's important to keep up with the latest trends or attacks because it’s always evolving. If you don't keep up, you'll be left behind," he emphasizes. Kyle's ambition extends to progressing from a Level 1 SOC Analyst to exploring roles in threat hunting or malware analysis, emphasising the need for continuous learning in this dynamic field.

Asked if he would recommend CFC to others in his network, Kyle responds with a resounding "100%." Despite lacking certifications and a relevant IT or cybersecurity degree, Kyle secured a job post-CFC.
